Been dancing since: I danced before I walked!

Dance Experience: 16 years training at the fabulous Future Stars Dance Academy where I trained in jazz, tap, modern, freestyle, disco, streetdance and some ballet. Freestyle disco competitor for 8 years taking part in prestigious competitions such as Eurodance and Disco Kids. Danced professionally at several clubs here and abroad, not to mention the many amazing events I have now taken part in thanks to the Rockettes!

Favourite style of dance: Streetdance, you can put a bit of your own style into it and it looks cool! Also freestyle – I loved competing and having to train and be super-flexible. It's high-energy dancing and kept you really fit.

What advice would you give to aspiring dancers? You are capable of whatever you want as long as you try hard enough and put the work in… no pain, no gain!!!

Best advice ever given to me: Live for today, plan for tomorrow, party tonight! haha

What is your earliest childhood memory? I have a really bad memory!! My mum says that at my first ever class at my dance school I hit my friend Cheryl on the head with a majorette stick and got into trouble, I remember everyone being reeeally tall!!! It's amazing to think that joining that class would shape the way the rest of my life was to be…

What I do to keep fit: Dance non stop!!! Almost every single night… it's such a fun way to keep fit! I like to go for a run or a swim a couple of times a week if I find time in between dancing! Also like to make good use of the JJB gym we train at with all their amazing equipment and machines (although some of them do scare me!).

Three words that describe me are: Caring, loyal, clumsy.

How would friends sum you up in one sentence? I asked my best friend to answer this one for me: she said "Gemma is gorgeous, she's hilarious, ambitious and is a one in a million who I'm lucky to be friends with." (Yeh, OK, I payed her to say that!).

I'm happiest when: It sounds like the obvious answer but it's true: when I'm dancing. I never get tired of it, especially when you've just perfected a routine and you know your hard work's paid-off theres no better feeling!

My claim to fame is: Being a Scottish Rockette of course.

My most unusual job: Standing outside the club I worked at in the middle of winter dressed as a devil. I was freeeezing!

If I had a different job I'd be: A vet or a policewoman (might still be one!).

My hobbies are: Guess? Dancing of course! Haha… and horse-riding when I find the time (A far cry from the glamour of the dancing world!).

Pets: A big white dog called Luna and a tiny white cat called Mia… that loves pink and diamonds more than me!!

Most people don't know this about me: I'm actually quite intelligent, I have far too many blonde moments.

What would your Gladiator name be? Maximus Decimus McKeessimus.

I've never been able to: Lick my elbow.

Favourite food: Spaghetti Bolognese… mmmmmm I can even order it in Spanish! (Had to learn: it's the only thing I eat when I'm there!).

Favourite joke: I love a wee blonde joke: Two blondes were in a parking lot trying to unlock the door of their car with a coat hanger. First Blonde: "I can't seem to get this door unlocked!" Second Blonde: "Well you better hurry up. It's starting to rain and the top is down!"

Favourite movie: I like too many movies to choose! I love a good chick-flick with girls.

What song will definitely get you up on the dance floor? Rihanna's big hit this year, Disturbia. Anything by Miss Britney Spears.

What was your favourite TV show as a child? Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles… I wouldn't answer anyone unless they talked to me in an American accent like them!

If you could have a walk-on part in any TV show, what would it be? Easy… Friends of course! How much fun do they have! I would be Phoebe's long lost triplet (since she already has a long lost twin and I have been told on a few occasions that I can act like her haha).

What is your feel-good DVD that is guaranteed to cheer you up? Two words, Patrick Swayze. Dirty Dancing – no matter what mood I'm in at the start I'm always dancing around my room to "I've had the time of my life" by the end.

What would be your ideal weekend? A spa retreat with the girls getting pampered all weekend, jacuzzis, massages, ahhhh heaven! (hint hint… Christmas present?).

Favourite location in Scotland: Largs on a sunny day. I love getting a chippy and some ice cream.

Favourite colour: Pink!

Favourite flower: Lillies.

Favourite perfume: Curious by Britney, (not just because it's her's it actually smells gorgeous).

Favourite colour of nail polish: A French manicure or black… both go with most outfits!

Favourite sport: Dance of course! And whoever says it isn't a sport should come along to one of our training sessions.

Favourite chocolate bar: Galaxy… I can't resist them.

Favourite cake: Mandarin cheesecake!

Is a Jaffa Cake; a cake or a biscuit? I don't know what they are but they are delicious! (and quite low in calories!).

Favourite pizza topping: Haha! Anyone who knows me will laugh at this question, I don't eat the top of pizzas… I scrape it off and eat the base.

What's your signature dish? You guessed it… spaghetti Bolognese!!

What would your last meal be? I'm sure you all know the answer to this already haha… Next!

Favourite cartoon character: He's not a cartoon character but I love the Harry Potter books I've read them all… twice!

Favourite Super Hero: Superman (When he was young… Smallville – you've got to watch it!).

What is your favourite word? Hmmm… I say "like" randomly when there's really no need for it. I suspect it's something to do with watching too many American sitcoms and movies!


How would you spend £1million? I would see all my family and friends OK then spendspendspend!

If you were to be Prime Minister for the day, what law would you pass? Everyone has to take a compulsory duvet day at least once a month, people are too stressed and overworked these days!

If you met God, what would you ask him? Where's the nearest beauticians around here? haha just kidding, there's too many things I'd want to ask and I don't plan on meeting him soon thanks!

If aliens landed, what would you show them or teach them first? I wouldn't show them anything – I'd be running… extremely fast in the opposite direction.

What or who do you think you were in a previous life? I think I worked with animals, I've always loved them and animals always seem to like me… except Hazel's dog he couldn't wait to get rid of me I think we were too loud for him haha!

What do you think the Meaning of Life might be? I don't think about it too much, I'm sure there is a reason why we are all here and why things happen in our lives, what's for you won't go by you.

If you could time travel to the past and the future; where would you visit and why? I would go back in time to see people the people in my life who who aren't here anymore and wouldn't go forward – I'm scared to see what I look like when I'm old!!!

If you could have a super-power for a day what would it be and how would you spend your day? I would fly… and spend the whole day flying around different countries!!

If you looked in the trunk of my car you would find? Zac Efron from High School Musical haha… I would have kidnapped him.

What ringtone do you have on your mobile phone at the moment? DISTURBIA! By Rihanna… I'm addicted to it. My friends are sick listening to it!

What's your 'handbag essentials'? I just looked in my handbag: phone, purse, keys, make-up bag (which includes the obvious concealer, lip gloss, High Beam, bronzer, blusher etc) hairspray, deodorant, chewing gum, a comb (for some volumising).

How many pairs of shoes do you own? Not as many as I would like… a girl can never have enough shoes!

Heels or trainers? Heels! I spend so much time in my trainers dancing I like to wear heels for a change, and love being taller!

Favourite outfit: My Rockette uniform of course!

You are stranded on a desert island; you can only take 3 items, what would they be and why? A towel, suncream and my iPod!

Best beauty tip: If you're going to spend a lot of money on anything make sure it's on make-up, cheap products ruin your skin! I love Benefit products especially High Beam gives a nice shiny healthy glow… and let your skin breathe – sometimes you don't always have to have your full face on!

Hottest new fashion tip: Just wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and what you know you look good in, that's when you look best it doesn't matter what's in and what's not. Choose styles that suit you and your shape.

Biggest hair trauma: Every morning is a hair trauma for me!

If you could re-style any celebrity; who would you choose, and how would you make them look better? Sorry… but it has to be my beloved Miss Britney Spears, she has such an amazing figure when she is in shape and doesn't show it off enough. I would dress her in a more sophisticated look but still keep some of her funky style, and sort those hair extentions out!

Worst male fashion mistake: Black shoes and white socks, leave it to Michael Jackson guys – even he can't make it look cool.

Worst chat-up line: I was sitting next to a guy in a club the other week and said "I didn't realize you were so tall" he turned to me winked and said "I'm not, I'm sitting on my wallet! I love chat-up lines… the laughs they give me make my make my night!


If your life was made into a movie what would it be called and who would play you? 'It Could Be!' And Lindsay Lohan would be play me – she rocks!

Who would you want as your lead man in your movie? Anyone of the following who were free for filming: Chad Micheal Murray, Zac Efron, Wentworth Miller, Chris Brown… there would be lots of kissing in the movie.

If you had to appear in a musical on Broadway which one would it be? Chicago… I would play Velma Kelly I love her sexy character and her big number 'All that Jazz' is my all-time favourite.

The person/people I most admire are: My friend and dance teacher Pamela Don for all her hard work and wise words, without her I wouldn't be where I am today. She gave me my love of dance and always pushed me to go further and do well in life as well as dance, I hope to follow in her footsteps and make good use of the talent she gave me, she was my idol.

What is the best gift you have ever received? I love all gifts, the thought of someone going out of their way to make me smile makes me happy, it doesn't matter how small it is.

If your house was on fire, what objects would you save? My photos, my dog, and my shoes!

What is your most cherished item? Photographs of my family.

If you were on the run and had to change your name to ANYTHING at all, what would you choose? Al Beeback.

Who would your ideal car passenger be? Clayr because I love our car chat!

What is the best thing about being a Rockettes Dancer? The girls!… in between our hard work we all have such a great laugh together and get on really well, and getting to do what I love best: perform alongside them all the time at so many fantastic events!
