Hi Claire.
Dancers have to be at least 18 on the day of tryouts to be able to audition for the Rockettes but there is no upper limit.

ever since i was a little girl i've always wanted to be a Rockette, and i still do!
but i'm 16 so do you definitely have to be 18? i just got into Laine Theatre Arts and i'm soooo commited and dedicated to my dancing and stuff, i was wondering if u wer allowed to train with the squad and not perform if u were under 18?

My daughter Caitlin Ann Rodgers (8) has just started doing dance in Primary School and think they would benefit from a visit from the Rockettes to St Marks primary school in barrhead, glasgow. The school paid for a group a children to come and watch the Scottish Rocks v Newcastle Eagles on the 20th Jan 08. Everyone loved their day out especially the Cheerleaders. I know you would probably have thousands of these requests but I thought as St Marks Primary in Barrhead is the School of Excellence in Scotland they deserved a treat.

Yes August this year is Gemma and she is one of our rookies… unfortunately Gemma broke her knee last year but has been back at training for the last month so hopefully you'll get to see her and a few of the other rookies on court very soon.

Hope you are doing ok. you missed a good game on Sunday the 18th but after the game i had to go to hospital because of the half time shooting contest. Turns out they said one small bone has cracked on my wrist which means i cannot play basketball or any other sport for 3 to 4 weeks which is going to be really sad.

To all the Rockettes at the Masters Football in Braehead, I want to thank you very much for making my little girl, Nadia, so happy!
She only got her pom poms earlier that day and insisted on taking them to the football. As soon as she seen all of you with your pom poms her face lit up (with of course dimples on show). And when you waved and talked to her later on she was over the moon.
She didn't stop going on about 'the girls' and her 'new friends' on the journey home. Think we may have a future Rockette on our hands!
Many thanks… will no doubt be turning up at more events just so she can see you all.

What a lovely message, it's so nice to see that even cos you didn't quite make the squad this time that you will come back and try again next year.
A lot of girls don't make the squad first time around and just give up trying, we'll look forward to seeing you next season. Now you at least know what you are in for and you can spend this year working on things you want to improve on.

I totally agree with Kat, that's such a lovely message – thank you so much for your kind wishes. And don't be too hard on yourself; the standard at the Finals was extremely high and therefore the selection process was difficult to say the least.
I'm so glad to hear that this hasn't put you off auditioning for the Rockettes in the future. Kat's right, take the positives from this event – at least next year you know what is expected of you. My advice would be to spend the next year working on your weaknesses and coming back better and stronger than before.

Hi Audrey, check out the Scot Cheer and BCA websites for listings of cheerleading clubs – hopefully you'll be able to find something suitable nearby.
Also, keep an eye on our website during next season (or subscribe to our Newsletter) to find out when we're holding our next Dance Workshop – I'm sure your daughter would have a great time learning and performing with the Rockettes!
