Hi girls,

Just wanted to leave a message before I hand over my uniform on Sunday, I'm so upset about it :-(!!!!

As you know I'll be travelling around the world for a year so I just wanted to say Thank You to the whole squad for my first season, I've made a great bunch of friends. The biggest Thank You has to go to my friend Carole Anne who believed in me from the beginning of the season and made me believe in myself again. I've had a Brilliant time. I've gained loads of great friends from the squad and will continue to check the website throughout my travels to see how you all are.

Thanks Kat M & Claire for replying to my e-mail. I went to Margaret McCauley and Bonnie Barr's dance schools, i don't know if i'm better going to these tryouts this year or wait to next year when i can prepare to build my fitness back up, what would you recommend?

Hi Laura,

Is Margaret McCauley related to Mhari McCauley? I know Mhari well.

Also I have judged at a few of Bonnie and Tony Curly's comps, I know Bonnie too.

It's really up to yourself whether you come this season to try out or not. Since you're asking, I really think you should give it a try.

As I said before, some of the other girls who have made the main squad have been out of dancing for while before auditioning. It's about how hard you push yourself. What's the worst that can happen? So if you don't make it this time there's always next time and you'll then at least know what you are in for. Good thing is you at least have a week to go away and practice, practice, practice before coming back the following Sunday to perform in front of the judges.

So, get yer dancing shoes on and start stretching from now till tryouts, you'll suprise yourself what you can achieve if you really want to.

Oh and p.s. just in case anyone is nervous about coming to try out, it's the funniest day ever, ok so a lot of hard work, but everyone really helps each other out. It's like a massive dance class broken down and taught really clearly.!! nae torra a baw..!

I am really interested in joining the Scottish Rockettes. I have been out of dancing for few years but I was a championship disco dancer before I left and also trained in all other dances, but I now have a 2-year-old – will this effect my chances of being chosen?

Hi Laura,

That's great you are thinking of coming to tryouts and let's hear it for the disco dancers.! I used to compete myself, before I started teaching. A few of the girls have disco backgrounds.

You should defo come along. I'm sure you will do great and it's like riding a bike. Once you get back into it there's no stopping you.

Also re you having a baby, Laura Geddes who was on our squad two seasons ago also has a baby boy and she is coming back to audition this season too – so let's hear it for the 'mamas'.!

if u r accepted for the squad how do u get to the game? do u travel urself or will there be a coach or bus provided? i can't try out for the squad till next year but i have 2 tattoos is that a problem?

Hi Sheryl,

Chances are there might be people from the same area that you can get a lift from but don't rely on it – at the very least make sure that you are able to get a bus or train to training and the games before you try out next year just in case.

As long as your tattoos aren't too big then that shouldn't be a problem. Some of the girls in the current squad have tattoos but they are either quite small or covered by their uniforms.

Have just read on the WhatsBev boards, the amount raised on the bucket collections over the Finals Weekend in aid of FranksLastWish… t'was an entire £941.30!!!! Nearly a grand!

Many congratulations to you all on a job well done, a worthy cause, and a fantastic set of fundraisers!

Shout out to you all, though esp. Chocolate E'Clayr (with a y), as she doesn't seem to get many messages individually =(, Miss June '05 deserves more coverage!!

Congratulations again, and I hope that both Rockettes and sports fans everywhere will continue to give generosly to this cause during the off-season.

Keep up the good work Ladies, both 05-06 and the incoming 06-07. I shall try and make the Braehead at least once next season, to see you all on your home patch.

Okay, a follow up message to my previous, as I've just got back from the 2nd day of the weekend – and wanted to express my thanks for being great entertainment throughout – even when not playing to many people early doors.

Watching you all fool around with Foxy and Scorcher was added fun =D, it's good that you're flexible enough to be able to include such things.

Great work on the collection again, hope you raised lots; though every little helps – was Clayr *swoon* who got me this time.

Must have been gutting to have to stay neutral during such a frustrating final… bad luck on the result by the way =(

Now, I know all of you are probably just getting in from a night out in Brummy right now… don't blame you by the way.

I'm just getting in from one in Sheffield now, having got back from the NIA tonight.

Just wanted to comment that it was good to see you all playing the part of Rocks supporters, rather than neutral cheerleaders that we're used to seeing on Final 4 Saturday – from my view from Mansfield Express side of the court, could see that you were having plenty of fun.

As such, as I write this now, knowing I'm headed back to the NIA early this morning, good luck to you as a part the Rocks team, and further as the Rockettes for trying to curb your enthusiasm as a biased group of followers in the Final on Sunday.

Can't leave without saying that I hope you all raise plenty over the weekend for FranksLastWish, which is such a great cause, and naturally as a 'ball fan I was only happy to drop some money in (think it was Linzi and Carrie that were there at the time!).

Anyway, hope we'll get to see you on the floor on Sunday.
