Dubai's pretty cool! I'm here with my fiancé Michelle, don't think you ever met, been going out for 2 years (probably since I left the jigging). When we got here we decided to get engaged!
We have a blast going round the shopping malls, hotels and restaurants. It's nice here, great place for a holiday.
I'm back in Glasgow for couple of weeks in August, then back here 'til who knows when!
I never realised you were doing so well with this Rockettes thang! Well done.
You're still a #### dancer though Mags! Yeah right!

Just wanted to say hi to Mags, Kat M, Carrie, Clayr and Liz. Used to go to your Wednesday night class at Dance Factory Mags, probably remember the spikey hair?
Just wanted to say a big well done to all of you. I know you girls work very hard at what you do, and I wish all the rockettes the best for the future.
Haven't been to class or seen any of you in ages, as I am currently working out in Dubai.
Haven't actually seen you perform to be honest, need to check it out when I'm back.

Hi there.
Yes, the Rockettes performed for Henrik's Farewell Fiesta at Parkhead last month, with routines before the game and at half-time. The atmosphere was great and the girls had a fantastic time. Hope you had a good night and enjoyed the game.

Just out of curiousity...what's BCA? (British Cheerleading Association? or what?) Some sort of competition I'm guessin, did you's compete?

Hiya Joe!
The BCA is the official governing body for cheerleading in Britain and they had their Scottish cheer and dance competition in the Kelvin Hall last weekend. Many of our friends have cheerleading squads who done very well there including the Gold Stars, Crystals and Diamonds and Kilsyth Starlets.
We are all well. Getting some well needed holidays but still training and doing promotional work and getting excited about the tryouts at the end of the month!

Hey Stephs, wee chick,
Glad you are enjoying the Britney dance, I will probably be along this Thursday to get it all finished. That's good that Danielle taught you the bit you missed. You are all doing really well with it as it is a dance I have taught at my Wednesday class. There are only a couple more bars to learn and then it repeats, chorus, verse and breakdown through the rest of the song.
So keep on practicing and I shall see you all on Thursday.

ay joe, take it you and g are gettin season tickets and gettin the same seats? i've had mines and geeboh's reserved again this year, next year in the cup if it ends up in birmingham we'll take yous guys to the strip clubs we went to!! but aye, my life feels all empty since the season ended. dunno whit tae dae wi masel. mind you ma band's playin next week.

 Had a fab time, the Soccer AM crew are a crazy bunch, on and off camera. Everyone was really nice and very laid back. Got to meet all the guests in the Green Room first and Ian Poulter was very nice, just very down to earth and chatty. He ate all the sweets and then took great pleasure at throwing them at the Spacemen, Tim and I. I am sure the one that bounced off my head has caused me some sort of injury... hee hee ;o)
Oh, and Ian drives a gleaming bright red Ferrari (who'd have thought it eh?).

Thank you to all the girls for the wonderful gifts and card (thanks also to Mags for spoiling the surprise! lol). I just want to say how much it means to me and to tell you all how wonderful you are. Thanks again.
You were all fantastic at the Globetrotters game tonight, you really did save the best for last and put on an amazing show. I know that Globie and both teams were very impressed - I don't think Globie expected Clayr's moonwalk to be better than his!
I'd like to take this opportunity on behalf of the girls to thank everyone who got autographs and photos and were so appreciative of the squad after the game, we all appreciate the support of the fans and look forward to seeing everyone back at Braehead for the Scottish Rocks games next season.
In the meantime please keep visiting the site throughout the summer as there are plenty of photos still to go on as well as news about upcoming Scottish Rockettes appearances. And not forgetting the 2004-2005 Season Tryouts which are happening at the end of June - more information and Application Forms will be posted on the site very soon.

Thank you to everyone who has mailed in to the site and given us your support, you's have been great all season, thanks for all the lovely gifts we were given; the choccies from Stephen and the wee 'Care Bear' teddies - which I love! The Rocks and Rockettes are so lucky to have such a fantastic group of dedicated fans at the games.
Can I just say I was holding it together pretty well on Sunday UNTIL I saw the wee boy (who comes to every game with his dad and sits courtside) breaking his wee heart crying... he set me off... I was so upset for the wee soul... I thought my mascara was waterproof - that's going well back to the shop. Hope you are ok.
Let's get behind the Rocks next season - they'll be back - so watch out!

Hey you, hope you are all well. Unfortunately that was the Rocks last game of this season yesterday. It was very upsetting because they got beat by a couple of points only, but that meant they were knocked out and do not progress to the finals ;o(
So will be next season before you can come to a game. However, if you keep checking the website you will be able to find out where the Rockettes will be performing next.

Hi Alannah,
Thank you for your question. The Rockettes are available for coaching sessions in schools and we teach in quite a few in the Glasgow area. It might be worth mentioning it to your teacher as they might be able to organise classes after school. Or if you would like me to recommend a reputable cheerleading class in your area then let me know and I will e-mail you contact details.

Hi there I recently seen a college basketball game from the U.S. and as well as having female cheerleaders they had blokes, so I was wondering would the rockettes ever accept guys in their squad? As I'm quite experienced at dancing, I learned my trade as a young kid going to weddings and dancing with my grandma, and at my own wedding i only broke one of my new wife's toes on the dancefloor, I have seen dirtydancing before but don't tell that to the lads doon the pub, or i will just deny it, however I know that I'm qualified as years ago when I told my mum and dad that I was leaving home they both shouted 'YA DANCER' so you see it's my destiny, anyhoo only joking you guys are way talented, it makes my eyes water when you do that bending backwards stuff as I have difficulty bending over to tie my shoelaces. anyway if me and stephen decide on another career except for photography i will let you know. maybe for next year's children in need we can have a breakdance burnout style comp, rockettes v media.

Thank you for the kind words about the squad. To be a Rockette you have to be at least 18 years old on the day of the tryouts. This year's tryouts will be held at the end June - keep an eye on the website nearer the time for more details.

We make up all of our own routines. All our girls have loads of experience of choreography of many different styles. We try to keep bringing in new routines to keep the show fresh and exciting for the fans.

Hi Sarah, we have two practises every week: Tuesday for 2½ hours and Sunday for 3½ hours. If there is a game on Sunday then we practise on Friday instead. The girls also practise amongst themselves to keep up their high standards.

The Rockettes are an amazing group of girls who have such busy cheer schedules but still make time to talk to fans and us other cheeries. The costumes are fab and the dances are amazing!!! So, girls we just wanna say how much we love ya's and appreciate all your efforts. Go the Rockettes!!! heehee.

I heard about you lovely ladies not being invited to the final, and thought it was bang out of order, so I'm in the middle of mailing a "little" complaint to the rocks "official", (confusing) site. You girls are a HUGE part of the team too, do more work than most of the players with promoting, setting up routines, training, going everywhere for not your sake but for the team, you deserve more credit than they do, so yeah..anyway...I'm gonna get stuck right into this complaints all round for the scottish rocks, YOU GIRLS RULE!

Greetings from Oz!
Hey girlies, it's Cheryl in Oz here. Can you believe I made it through three flights, including navigating through Heathrow Airport?! (Listen to me, it sounds like i flew the plane!). It's really nice here in Sydney, warm and sunny. Have acquired a fair few freckles since I arrived but I wouldn't quite say i was tanned - yet! Saw the harbour bridge and opera house the other day and they are spectacular! Will be leaving Sydney on Tuesday to go a-wandering up the coast. I would like to say a big thank u to the squad for giving the FLAMES CHEERLEADING JUNIOR SQUAD a chance to dance with YOURSELF.You gave them a great experience and their coach Pammie Davis was really proud of her girls. They work hard at their dances, chants and stunts. Just now they are working to raise money for their uniforms and pomz so they can compete in compitions. I get nervous before every single game and every single performance, I turn into a blubbering wreck, unable to tell my right from left and which way I should be facing etc. But I think it is good thing to get nervous - the moment I don't then I will start worrying.

Hello Chick,
You will be able to get similar tights from any dance shop - they are available from all different suppliers and come in a range of sizes/prices etc so you will have no trouble getting ones suitable for your squad. Good luck with your squad - what's your squads name? And how long have you been dancing??
And I would love to say we are all naturally sun-kissed, but it's achieved with lots of bronzer/make-up etc!!

Hi Fiona, thanks for the compliment, we all had a great time at the Rangers games.
Our squad this year consists of 10 full-time dancers. We rotate the squad around for each Scottish Rocks game so that 8 or 9 girls are performing and one or two have the weekend off.
For the Rangers games we added another six girls who were at the tryouts to make a larger squad to fill the much greater size of Ibrox stadium's pitch.

Hey there Kat & Claire! How are you? So that's Majestic closed now!! It was the last night on Sat, I was gutted, and I'll miss it so much I loved working there! And also I'll miss seeing you both (and Sam the fire-tricks man) when you came in for dancing, I used to get shouted at by customers for being to busy standing watching the dancing and fire-tricks to serve them (lol)!

We don't have any plans for a junior squad just yet but we are hoping to have another Dance Workshop soon - keep an eye on the website for details.
There are a number of junior squads in the Glasgow area. If you let us know what area you're from we can see about putting you in touch with a local class.

It's Gordon from Paisley Mutiny here. Just wanted to say it was great to finally meet you today at the Largs Viking Festival. Ruth had been at your Dance Workshop and told us all about you so it was really cool meeting you in person.
Hope you had a good time at the Parade once we finally got to perform. Your routine looked really good and it was a shame the music cut out on you - but you all still managed to keep in time and it looked great.
Maybe see you all at a Rocks game or if you ever come to a Pirates match.

Hi Stephanie, myself and Ellie took the oldest group at the Dance Workshop and had a great time doing so.
You all performed fantastically well when your groups came on at the quarter changes and it looked like you all had fun.

Hi Amy,
To join the Rockettes you have to be 18 but there may be loads of junior squads around depending on where you live. You can find out more on the ScotCheer website or send us an e-mail and we'll see if we can put you in touch with someone in your area.
Also, the Rockettes are planning another Dance Workshop in the near future which would be ideal for you if you want to give it a shot. Keep checking the website for details and dates once we've got it arranged.

It's really nerve wracking but very, very exciting dancing in front of the crowds in Braehead you are all soooo noisy. We try really hard to make sure we are as entertaining for you guys as we possibly can. I can't wait until the start of the season, the new squad are already working really hard at rehearsals. We are also dancing at Ibrox stadium on the 9th August which we are all really excited about.

It's great to be part of the squad for another year, never really saw myself doing 'cheerleading' to be honest but it has certainly shattered all my illusions as to how I thought it would have been.
We all had a great time last season and I thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a high motivated, hard working group of dancers.
Lets hope this season will be just as much fun! :o) Kat x

Thank you very much, I was sooo nervous and too worried about how I would sound on T.V. when I was doing the show.
Everyone was really nice and I had a great time, but was mortified when they started showing my house etc. How funny did Brian Conley look dressed as a cheerleader, hysterical, best bit of show I thought. Quite surprised he wasn't at try-outs!
Can't wait until the new season begins and we start Rockin' Braehead once again.
