The UK's leading dance team, the Rockettes, have joined forces with the British Basketball Federation to support the UK's National Basketball Team, Team GB.
Team GB travelled to Meadowbank in Edinburgh to take on the Netherlands in their second game of the European Championships qualifying round and this proved to be a match worth watching.
"We are thrilled to be working with Team GB, and we hope that our partnership will continue and we will be able to support the Great Britain team in future matches" Carole Anne Deeney, Dance Team Manager
The City of Edinburgh was delighted with the attendance; the packed stadium resulted in an amazing atmosphere as the Scottish basketball fans encouraged the team to a well-deserved victory.
"The event was a great success and judging by the feedback we have had from Coach Chris Finch and the players, the GB team are keen to come back to Meadowbank and play further Eurobasket games next year. The Rockettes certainly helped to get the crowd of 1,300 behind the GB team who put on a fantastic performance to win their first game of the campaign.
"Along with Forth One's Mark Martin and, without doubt, the best basketball commentator Scotland has, Graeme Easton, the Rockettes added the glamour to proceedings and their game presentation was fantastic.
"We at City of Edinburgh Council hope that if we are given the opportunity to host another Eurobasket game, that we will work with the Rockettes who showed why they are Scotland's premiere dance group." Edinburgh City Council.
