Rockettes in Pavilion Panto

Saturday 15th January 2011 was a huge day in Scottish Rockettes history: this was the day the Rockettes made their panto début with a guest appearance in The Magical Adventures of Robin Hood at Glasgow's most famous panto venue 'The Pavilion Theatre'.

Rockettes with Cat Harvey (Friar Nip'n'Tuck)As many of you will know three of our current squad members; Lynsey Brown, Deone Robertson and Judi Miles are the resident dancers in the show so it was lovely to be invited to perform alongside them.

We arrived at the theatre a few hours before the show and headed straight for the stage. Our rehearsal went very well and we were all really excited about the performance ahead.

Next we were given a tour backstage and introduced to all of the cast and crew. They were all really lovely and happily took the time to pose for some pictures with us.

Then it was back to our dressing room to get ready for the show. After an extra coating of lippy and gloss, a final skoosh of hairspray and a puff or two of glitter… we were ready to go.

15 minutes to go and we hear our stage call… we grab our poms and head to the stage. Standing in the wings, I was feeling pretty nervous. Not only were we putting up a stunt but some of the girls were including some complicated tumbles in quite a tight space. However, as soon as we got out on the stage the adrenaline kicked in and we rocked it!

The audience were amazing and we enjoyed every moment of it. All of the cast were very impressed with our routine and said we brought some extra sparkle to the show. All in all it was a great night which we will remember for years to come.

We would like to thank the Pavilion Theatre for inviting us along and making us feel so welcome. Good luck for the rest of the run; we look forward to seeing you at the wrap party!

Lots of love, wee Claire x x x
